Scope

The UW Health Digestive Health Center (DHC) is a 67,292 square foot, three-story structural steel frame building with composite concrete and steel floor decks and one level of underground parking. The exterior foundation walls and footings are poured in place concrete. The building exterior skin is modular brick and pre-engineered stone masonry, pre-finished architectural metal panels and glass.

UW Digestive Health Center is one of the first buildings in the state to pursue the USGBC’s LEED certification under the LEED 2009 for Healthcare (Silver) standard. The building will be used by UW Health as a teaching tool to educate staff, visitors, and patients about sustainable construction. UW Health has also established an educational outreach program and guided tours on the sustainability aspects of the project.
