Scope
The building was designed with LEED certification driving many individual cost/benefit calculations as systems and components were proposed and tested. For components such as LED lighting, underground rainwater storage, Photovoltaic panels and a state of the art air-cooled Daikin heat pump HVAC system, Krupp compared hard costs vs the payback from long-term reduced energy costs. Krupp worked closely with the Focus on Energy staff and engineers at Sustainable Engineering Group to determine the desirability of each proposed “green” system and idea.
